Mechanical Engineer

Location: Royston (SG8) Duration: 12 months Hours: 9am until 5:30pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £40 - £45 per hour Job Reference: 35506 Polytec are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer for our client based in Royston. Responsibilities: All aspects of design, from initial concept through to production release Lead and/or participate in design reviews to ensure designs meet required specifications Identify, implement and record engineering design changes Support continuous improvement activities to ensure programme targets are met Effective handover of products to ensure successful production release Define detailed system specifications for new product developments Requirements: Excellent degree (2:1 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering with a strong mechanical bias Experience of successfully developing and commercialising complex systems or scientific instruments for low to medium volume manufacture Track record of developing designs that achieve cost and quality targets within agreed timescales Experience of conceptualising and developing complex systems containing hardware, electronics and software, ideally for life-science, biological or laboratory-based applications Development of consumable products for use in automated equipment Broad working knowledge of Fluid dynamics Strong understanding of other engineering disciplines Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
