Job Description

£49,707 – £54,975 35 hours per week Temporary until 31 December 2025 Dundee About the role This role sits within the Qualifications and Standards Team and will require working closely with a range of external partners and internally with key staff to progress the work of regulation, qualifications and standards. The post holder will be required to work with the social services sector and lead on specified activities related to the registration of new groups, the National Occupational Standards (NOS), UK and non-UK qualifications. This includes the scrutiny and quality assurance of qualifications for registration specifically around reviewing the qualifications required for SSSC registration. The role is exciting and diverse, and the role holder will have the opportunity to influence and support national change. You will also support the team with projects and in their core regulatory work. The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge and experience of the social services sector, NOS and how SVQ qualifications are structured, assessed and verified. You will have a proven working knowledge of how other qualifications are structured in Scotland and in the rest of the UK. You will also have a working knowledge of awarding bodies and the Scottish Credit Qualification Framework. You will have exceptional skills in carrying out research, writing and developing qualifications and paying attention to detail. An understanding of our registration structure and associated benchmark qualifications are also essential to ensure developments remain appropriate for the level of skills and knowledge required within the sector. The role will require extensive internal and external engagement and consultation, and you will therefore ideally be experienced in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, both internally and externally, to gather information and analyse that information accordingly. You will also need to have a good knowledge and understanding of national policy and initiatives and what they mean for the social services workforce, including The Promise.
