Product Development Engineer

Job Role: Product Development Engineer (Design) Location: Northamptonshire Salary: £45,000 D.O.E We are recruiting for a leading engineering company seeking a skilled Product Development Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks and sheet metal design. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative product development and design solutions. Key Responsibilities: Create innovative product designs using SolidWorks. Improve existing products and processes. Produce manufacturing drawings and documentation. Manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system. Ensure designs meet statutory regulations and manufacturing efficiency. Collaborate with internal teams to meet business requirements. Oversee product development from design to commissioning. Participate in design reviews and challenge existing methods. Project Execution: Lead standalone product projects, ensuring successful delivery within time and cost constraints. Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure customer satisfaction. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Design/Product Engineer, especially in sheet metal and fabricated products. SolidWorks 2022 expertise (sheet metal and weldments). Experience with AutoCAD 2D. HNC or equivalent in mechanical/manufacturing engineering. Basic electrical engineering knowledge is a plus.
