Project Design Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Northamptonshire Salary: £45,000 D.O.E A leading engineering company seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for delivering complex projects from design through to commissioning, with a focus on system layout, project execution, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Design & Engineering: Create 3D/2D GA drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, integrating in-house and third-party equipment for optimized layouts. Project Execution: Manage the engineering development of projects, including detailed design, BOM creation, and customer liaison. Support installation and commissioning. Continuous Improvement: Analyze completed projects to enhance design processes, costings, and competitiveness. Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure the successful delivery of each project. Required Skills & Experience: Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design. Proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD Software. Basic knowledge of electrical engineering. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field. Desirable: Experience with special purpose machinery (conveyors) and recycling equipment. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. What They Offer: A dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
