Medical Officer (Doctor - Wits PHRU)

Main purpose of the job: To provide comprehensive medical care/clinical support to patients enrolled in vaccine clinical trials at the PHRU Location: PHRU - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto Key performance areas: Provision of clinical care to patients and participants Accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping Management of patient/participant flow in the clinic Clinical trial conduct as delegated by the principal investigator Required minimum education and training: Medical Degree (MBCHB) Required minimum work experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a clinical environment (Can be inclusive of internship/community service time) Must be able to start work immediately (preferably) Professional body registration: Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Registered with MPS Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification Experience in HIV and TB treatment and care Empathy and understanding of people living with HIV/AIDS Research experience or willingness to learn Computer literacy – competence in MS Word, Outlook and Excel Able to exercise discretion and independent decision making TO APPLY: Only if you meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV with a One Page Cover letter Please Apply Online and complete your registration on Ditto Hire (our application tracking system) to enable and protect you as a candidate to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions.
