School Caretaker Location: Dover Job Type: Full-time Salary: 100 a day We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join our team at our school. This role is crucial for maintaining the school premises to a high standard, ensuring a safe, secure, and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors. Day-to-day of the role: Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the school building and grounds. Identify and report major repair needs to the appropriate authorities. Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order. Security: Open and close the school premises, including setting and disabling alarms. Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of the school. Respond to emergency call-outs as required. Cleaning and Hygiene: Oversee the cleaning of the school, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Manage waste disposal and recycling processes. Ensure that cleaning supplies are well-stocked and properly stored. Health and Safety: Conduct regular health and safety inspections of the premises. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies. Maintain records of safety checks and incidents. Grounds keeping: Maintain the school grounds, including gardening, snow removal, and general upkeep. Ensure playgrounds and outdoor areas are safe and well-maintained. Support Services: Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed. Provide general support to staff and students as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or similar role. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques. Understanding of health and safety regulations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Personal Attributes: Reliable, trustworthy, and proactive. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
