Development Engineer

DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER COMPANY OVERVIEW Our client are a highly technical welding and CNC company that specialises in the aerospace and automotive industries, and they hold the AS9100 and NADCAP accreditation. Trading since 1998 and with over 25 employees, this company operates a bespoke, unique operation that offers services and solutions in with precision engineering excellence. Due to a successful year, they have a unique opportunity for a Development Engineer with a welding background to join their busy team. JOB PURPOSE You will oversee and manage the development of electron beam welding projects to ensure optimal quality and efficiency - full training will be given Providing guidance, training, and support as needed (once trained). Collaborate with customer’s design and engineering teams to develop innovative electron beam welding solutions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Monitor and maintain equipment, identifying areas for improvement or repair. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. JOB REQUIREMENT Basic knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment. (not essential) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong Engineering Background Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills. Familiarity with industry health and safety standards. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An engineering qualification Welding background Customer facing experience Quotation / Estimation / Sales experience would be ideal SALARY / BENEFITS £40k salary benefits 39 hour contract Monday - Thurs 7-4 Friday – finish 12.30pm 25.5 days plus bank holidays Opportunity to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
