SEMH Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | January 2025 | South East London A leading Primary School are in need of a superb SEMH - Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a Year 8 pupil who has some behaviour difficulties due to traumatic events that have taken place. The pupil is a high-functioning, capable individual but requires additional support and nurturing support network. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods. Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.SEMH Teaching Assistant | Requirement Must have some recent SEN Experience Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one) Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with behavioural problems Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
