About the role Interviews will be held regularly and the post may close early if a suitable candidate is found so don’t delay in applying This advert is for an Education Advisor who will work within our Achievement Through Access and Inclusion team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the barriers which may be faced by care-experienced children and young people and the impact of these on educational outcomes. They will contribute to the work of the advisory team in responding to referrals at an individual child level and will also drive preventative work in response to trends and patterns. For more information about our Virtual School see the video below: For more information or to chat about this opportunity please contact: Heather Edwards - Deputy Head Teacher Heather.Edwardscambridgeshire.gov.uk 07817466563 About you You will have up to date knowledge of the education system, recent experience of working in a school, Local Authority or virtual school, and a strong understanding of the barriers faced by care experienced children and will offer support and challenge to ensure that educational outcomes are maximised. You will be familiar with SEND, exclusions, attendance and admissions statutory guidance. You will be responsible for building relationships and providing support and challenge for key partners including senior leaders in schools to promote inclusion. Specifically, you will work to address concerns around attendance, exclusion and engagement. You will be confident at communicating effectively, efficient, organised and be able to work using your own initiative within a wider team. You must be able to drive and may be expected to travel outside of Cambridgeshire.
