Catering Assistant

A long established company is looking for an experienced Catering Assistant/Cook to work in their small friendly staff canteen. Based in Medway Towns, this is a temporary position, however there will be an opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate. This is a great position for someone who wants to make the role their own. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 1:00pm. A Food Handlers Certificate is required for this role. You will be working on your own preparing breakfasts and snacks for approx 30 covers per day. The menu consists mainly of hot breakfast rolls, jacket potatoes, toasted sandwiches and soup. You will also be responsible for producing a main meal, menu planning and some basic costings. In addition to this you are responsible for assisting with the food ordering, stock control, cash handling, filling vending machines and cleaning the kitchen at the end of each service.
