SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Sutton-In-Ashfield Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) Salary: Competitive Join our dedicated team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant in Sutton-In-Ashfield, where you will play a crucial role in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This position is ideal for individuals who are committed, resilient, and skilled in managing challenging behaviours. Day-to-day of the role: Support students with SEMH needs in both their academic and personal development. Implement individualised strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviours. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support comprehensive student progress. Utilise trauma-informed practices to better understand and address the needs of students. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience working with children who display challenging behaviours. Strong character and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Deep understanding and empathy towards the diverse backgrounds of our pupils. Preferable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
