Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Management: People Champion ● Administer and maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection laws. ● Manage recruitment processes, including job postings, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding. ● Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including payroll inputs and queries. ● Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth. ● Handle performance appraisal processes, assisting managers with goal-setting and evaluations. ● Address employee grievances and provide advice on workplace issues in line with labor laws and company policies. Regulatory Compliance: ● Ensure compliance with South African labor laws, including the Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Skills Development Act. ● Prepare and submit statutory reports such as Employment Equity Reports (EE), Workplace Skills Plans (WSP), and Annual Training Reports (ATR). ● Act as the main point of contact during external audits or inspections related to labor or HR practices. Culture and Employee Engagement : ● Drive initiatives that align with the companys culture and values, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity. ● Plan and execute employee engagement activities, including recognition programs and staff events. ● Facilitate team-building exercises to strengthen collaboration and morale. ● Promote and support employee wellness programs, ensuring a healthy and productive workforce. Support to Line Management : ● Act as a strategic partner to managers, advising on employee relations, team dynamics, and leadership strategies. ● Assist managers with workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational design. ● Provide guidance on disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans. Office Administration: ● Oversee general office management tasks, including ordering and managing groceries, stationery, and other supplies. ● Supervise the office cleaner and ensure a professional and organised workplace environment. ● Manage vendor relationships related to office needs. Payroll and Benefits Support: ● Support the payroll process by ensuring accurate employee data and leave records are maintained. ● Assist employees with benefits-related queries and liaise with service providers as needed. ● Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits offerings in collaboration with leadership. HR Reporting and Analytics : ● Maintain and analyse HR metrics to inform strategic decision-making (e.g., turnover rates, absenteeism). ● Generate and present regular reports on HR activities, compliance, and workforce trends. What Were Looking For: Experience and Skills: ● Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. ● 3 years in an HR Generalist role, with experience in a South African business environment. ● Proven Experience with Regulatory Compliance and Submission platforms and processes ● Strong knowledge of South African labor laws and compliance requirements. ● Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office and/ or Google Work Suite. ● Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. ● Experience with office administration tasks, event planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
