Software Development Engineer III - Java Technologies

T-Shaped Engineering Expectation : Beyond your deep expertise in full-stack development, you will embody a T-shaped engineering approach, contributing broadly to the overall engineering culture and best practices. This includes a strong emphasis on testing automation, enhancing user experiences, and collaborating closely with backend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless product integration. You will take ownership of delivering high-quality, maintainable code that not only meets immediate project needs but also ensures long-term scalability and superior performance. Example Responsibilities : - Collaborate within a cross-functional team to continuously improve systems using innovative technologies. - Work closely with the team to deliver features from requirements and analysis through the development process and into production. - Partner with Product Managers to clarify and prioritize work, coordinate with QA Engineers to maintain and elevate quality standards, and collaborate with DevOps Engineers to support operations and troubleshooting. - Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate new tools and frameworks. - Define and apply best practices with your team to create new features in the most effective manner, while enhancing the quality of existing systems. Experience and Qualifications : - Solid experience with Java, Spring (Core/Boot/Security/MVC/Data), REST (principles and hands-on experience with at least one framework), SQL, Git, Maven/Gradle, JPA, and Design Patterns. - A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. - Proficiency in Kotlin (as many services will be developed using Kotlin). - Experience with distributed systems. - Ability to work collaboratively with PMs, QA, and DevOps throughout the feature/product lifecycle. - Capability to write high-quality, secure code and familiarity with static code analysis tools. - Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience and Qualifications : - Experience building distributed computing and enterprise-scale systems. - Proficiency with any of the following: Docker, microservices architecture (hands-on), Spring Cloud, Redis, Python. - Experience using the AWS suite of cloud development tools. - Familiarity with Java 17 features. - PCI compliance experience. - Knowledge of Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Computer Vision algorithms, either through development or usage.
