FinOps Specialist - AWS/Azure

Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced FinOps Specialist with a strong background in multicloud optimization across AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in cloud cost management, optimization strategies, and financial governance. This role will be instrumental in ensuring cost efficiency, maximizing cloud ROI, and aligning cloud spending with business objectives. Key Responsibilities : Cloud Cost Management & Optimization : - Analyze and optimize cloud costs across AWS and Azure environments, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and increase efficiency. - Monitor cloud usage patterns and implement best practices to achieve cost savings without compromising performance. - Develop and implement tagging strategies to ensure accurate cost tracking and allocation. Financial Governance : - Collaborate with HB, AHA, Finance, and engineering teams to establish and maintain cloud budgets and forecasts. - Provide regular reports and insights on cloud spending to stakeholders. - Ensure adherence to cloud financial policies and governance frameworks. Performance & Usage Analysis : - Utilize tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and third-party solutions to analyze resource usage and costs. - Conduct regular reviews of resource utilization and recommend scaling adjustments or rightsizing as needed. Process Improvement & Automation : - Develop automation scripts for cost monitoring, resource cleanup, and anomaly detection. - Drive continuous improvement in FinOps processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability. Stakeholder Collaboration : - Partner with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures. - Educate teams on cost implications of their cloud usage and promote a cost-conscious culture. Cloud Vendor Management : - Work closely with AWS and Azure account teams to negotiate contracts, discounts, and pricing agreements. - Stay updated on new cost-saving features and services offered by cloud providers. Key Skills & Qualifications : - Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization, with a focus on AWS and Azure. - Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of cloud architecture, pricing models, and billing processes for both AWS and Azure. - Tools Expertise : Proficiency with cloud-native cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) and third-party FinOps tools like CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, or Spot.io. - Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization. - Communication : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to present complex financial data to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Certifications (Preferred) : AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or FinOps Certified Practitioner. - Soft Skills : Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
