Job Description : Linux System Administrator Position Overview : We are seeking a skilled and motivated Linux System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux operating systems, a solid understanding of networking and security concepts, and hands-on experience with system-level troubleshooting, scripting, and modern DevOps tools. This role requires someone who can manage, secure, and optimize server environments while ensuring seamless operations and system reliability. Key Responsibilities : Linux System Management : - Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and kernel tweaking of Linux operating systems. - Perform system hardening and OS log analysis to maintain security and performance. - Manage and tweak Linux filesystems, including knowledge of various filesystem types and optimization for specific purposes. User and Security Management : - Manage system users, user rights, IPTABLES/Firewall, SELinux, and Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS). - Implement and maintain security protocols, including L7 security concepts and advanced security awareness. Server and Network Troubleshooting : - Perform server troubleshooting, including load analysis, process tracing, and I/O statistics (iostat). - Conduct network-level troubleshooting and maintain basic networking, including routes, IPv6, and subnet configurations. Web Technology and Load Balancing : - Configure and manage web technologies such as DNS and HTTP servers. - Set up and maintain load balancing to optimize resource utilization and performance. Scripting and Automation : - Utilize tools like awk, sed, and shell scripting to automate tasks. - Leverage automation frameworks such as Ansible for system and configuration management. Monitoring and Infrastructure Management : - Set up and manage monitoring tools like Nagios to ensure system health and uptime. - Administer database clusters, including MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, ELK, and Redis, ensuring high availability and performance. DevOps and Containerization : - Work with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab for streamlined deployment processes. - Set up and manage containerization platforms, including Docker and Kubernetes (K8s). Advanced Technical Knowledge : Expertise in : - Filesystem concepts like block size, inodes, and encryption. - System tools like trace, top, and kernel panic troubleshooting. - Database topics like table types, replication, and GTID. - Networking concepts such as OSI layers, private IP ranges, DoS/DDoS mitigation, and SSL configurations. - Web server optimization, including rewrite rules, URL blocking, and custom : - Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role. - In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and system architecture. - Strong understanding of security best practices and tools. - Hands-on experience with scripting, automation, and container orchestration. - Familiarity with networking protocols and tools. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications : - Certifications such as RHCE, LFCS, or similar are a plus. - Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure setups.
