Job Description


Description:

Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair small engines and related equipment. Responsible for all parts and warehouse operations including ordering, organizing, researching, and conducting inventory processes. Responsible for all residential sales and rental department operations. This position has a high level of customer interaction which includes customer care, problem resolution, and sales.

Requirements:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on equipment according to standard procedures in an efficient manner.
  • Train and educate customers on use of equipment and value of products and services provided.
  • Refill gasoline, oil and other liquids for the Field Service Technicians as required.
  • Utilize computer to research, accurately quote, purchase and organize generator replacement parts for internal service team and external customers.
  • Proactively sell residential generators by cultivating and developing relationships with contractors and end-users.
  • Assist walk-in and phone-in customers by cross selling, answering questions, resolving concerns and providing general customer service related to parts, rentals, and residential generators. Utilizing computer and cash register to finalize sales.
  • Ensure organization and cleanliness of the parts and shop areas.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all shipping and receiving including ordering, tracking, and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for annual inventory management for assigned warehouse location, including inventory maintained in Technician vehicles.
  • Provide accurate, efficient, and timely quoting and invoicing of parts and residential generators.
  • Develop and maintain proactive and meaningful relationships with vendors.
  • This position reports to a specified Wolverine location and may occasionally travel to other company locations.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred
  • Experience with material/enterprise resource planning (MRP/ERP) software is preferred
  • Experience with shipping courier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) software is preferred

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with little guidance
  • Ability to follow instructions in written and oral form
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Maintain a valid Driver's License

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, crouch and bend for extended periods of time and be able to move about in a warehouse environment.
  • Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer and must have the ability to use hands to handle, control or feel objects or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constantly communicate and exchange information with team members and must be able to effectively communicate correct information with vendors.
  • Read/comprehend, write, communicate orally, reasoning and analytical abilities, and mental flexibility.
  • Frequently move objects up to 50 pounds. The company recommends a two person or assisted lift for objects over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to compare and distinguish accounting and administrative data.
  • Hearing ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.


Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in a typical office or warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials, gas combustible engines, high voltage output equipment, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires wearing common protective and safety equipment.
  • Exposure to sound and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Position may involve extended work hours and travel to customer or company locations.


Travel:

  • This position requires travel 3% of the time and is based out of the Marquette office.
