Mechanical Design Engineer An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading company based in Middlesbrough. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing innovative aerospace subsystems. Using your expertise, you will create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, perform thermal and stress analyses, and ensure designs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Responsibilities as the Mechanical Design Engineer: Create 2D and 3D SolidWorks models for aerospace subsystems. Conduct 3D thermal and stress analysis using finite element modelling tools. Prepare and review manufacturing documentation to support analysis and testing. Assess mechanical properties of parts and assemblies for quality assurance. Apply knowledge of machining, casting, moulding, coating, and plating processes. Ensure designs comply with RoHS and WEEE regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to project success. Requirements: Proficiency in 2D and 3D Solid modelling (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with 3D thermal and stress analysis using finite element methods. Familiarity with machining, casting, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of RoHS and WEEE compliance. Previous experience in aerospace, telecommunications, or the defence sector is advantageous.
