Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer Purpose of the Role: As a Manufacturing Engineer - Body Assembly , you will leverage your process improvement expertise to assess current production systems, reduce costs, and optimize capacity. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in enhancing and developing the manufacturing processes used by our production teams to build high-performance vehicles. Additionally, you will support the integration of new model build processes into series production, focusing on continuous improvement, quality investigations, and advanced industrial engineering techniques. Key Responsibilities: Process Optimization: Update and manage process sequencing, documentation, and product traceability methodologies. Maintain and refine PFMEAs and Quality Control Plans. Implement and monitor Lean Manufacturing and error-proofing strategies. Production Efficiency: Generate and report Hours Per Car (HPC) data, ensuring efficiency and output targets are met. Collaborate with operational teams to resolve production bottlenecks. Continuous Improvement: Utilize tools such as 8D, Six Sigma, 4M’s, PDCA, and Kaizen to enhance process quality and throughput. Lead facility layout design and material flow improvements for new and existing models. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support tooling solutions for Body in White processes. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams on manufacturing process and capability development. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (2:1 or above), or equivalent experience in a similar role. Experience in: Vehicle assembly and body assembly processes. Specification and procurement of assembly equipment. Resolving product-related quality issues. Safe working practices. Proficiency with CATIA or similar 3D software is advantageous.
