Finishing Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading main contractor known for delivering high-quality commercial developments across the UK. They are currently looking for an experienced Finishing Foreman to join their team on a long-term freelance basis for a commercial new build project in Leeds. Job Overview: The Freelance Finishing Foreman/Forewoman will oversee the final stages of construction, ensuring all finishing work is completed to the highest standards. You will manage the finishing teams on-site, liaising with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality expectations. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage finishing trades on-site (joiners, painters, plasterers, etc.), ensuring work is completed to specification. Oversee quality control during the finishing stages, ensuring all work meets the required standards. Coordinate and manage the snagging process, ensuring any issues are promptly addressed and resolved. Collaborate with the site management team, including project managers and subcontractors, to ensure smooth and timely completion of tasks. Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant regulations. Ensure the site is kept tidy and that logistics are managed effectively throughout the finishing phase. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on progress and any issues encountered. Requirements: Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman within the commercial construction sector. Strong knowledge of the finishing trades and processes on new build projects. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams. Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard. A valid CSCS card is essential; SMSTS is highly desirable. Previous experience working on commercial new build projects is preferred. Must be available for an immediate start or within a short notice period. Whats On Offer: A long-term freelance contract.
