Senior Simulator Engineer

The role of the Typhoon Active Cockpit Rig is to allow the pilot evaluation of the future design of the cockpit's Human-Machine Interface (HMI) in a realistic tactical environment, before the design is embodied onto the aircraft. Responsibilities: Development of c/c++ code in producing cockpit HMI concepts / prototypes into the ACR. Ownership of given tasks, liaising with the internal customer to understand requirements / concepts and to demonstrate implementation through to completion. Managing work through configuration control (commiting / branching / merging). Estimating development activities, including progress reporting. Mentoring of early careers team members and code reviews. Continuous development / refinement of current development processes and technology.Skills: Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 15 Years C/C++ experience working on complex large scale projects (preferably engineering projects). Significant knowledge of developing in a Windows environment (Visual C++). Excellent code navigation / debugging / 'figuring it out' skills. Highly motived and self driven. Significant experience of using configuration control toolsets. Mentoring early careers staff. Excellent written and verbal communication.Due to the access to Caveat Material, the candidate should have British nationality only
