Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dynamic team at a specialist SEMH secondary school in Redbridge. Our school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is supported to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve success. About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one and group support to students, helping them engage with learning and develop essential skills. Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student’s needs. Support students with emotional regulation, social interactions, and academic progress. Collaborate with the wider team, including SEN professionals, therapists, and parents/carers, to ensure holistic support. Promote the school’s ethos of resilience, respect, and responsibility. About You: We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people, ideally in an SEN or SEMH setting. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable to diverse learning and behavioural needs. Can manage challenging behaviour with confidence and professionalism.
