Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Plumbing Background) Location: Manchester Salary: £36,000 per annum Shift: Day Shift About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong plumbing background to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of a [commercial building/portfolio of commercial buildings]. This is a permanent day-shift position offering £36,000 per annum. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems and plumbing installations. Diagnose and repair mechanical and plumbing faults, including pumps, pipework, HVAC systems, and water management systems. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime. Collaborate with the wider facilities and maintenance team to deliver exceptional service to the client and building occupants. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and update maintenance logs and reporting systems. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, with a focus on plumbing. NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or a related discipline (or equivalent). Knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). Strong understanding of building services and plumbing regulations. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
