They are now seeking an Associate/Project Director to join their Project Management team in the South West to grow their advanced manufacturing offering, as well as lead on a major gigafactory project. The project is currently in the design phase and this role will see the project though to competition and hand over. This is a major prestigious project for the UK in the advanced manufacturing sector providing both an exciting challenge and a career building opportunity for the candidate. Later projects and opportunities include other large advanced manufacturing facilities, hyperscale data centres and large life sciences projects. You will be joining the company's fastest growing sector with a strong pipeline of work and some of the best major projects in the region. The Role This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all services relating to project management across the South West, and will be responsible for a team of Project Manager’s, leading on a flagship advanced manufacturing project. Main purpose of the role; To lead and coordinate project activities, ensuring good communication and adherence to governance processes. To understand, anticipate, inform and deliver great outcomes for their clients, every time, everywhere through your team. To drive exceptional delivery, health & safety, commercial, risk management and quality performance throughout the project lifecycle. To develop a team of Project Management professionals with a strong pipeline of work. Lead the team and grow the business unit by attracting talent and delivering great outcomes for a busy set of clients. Key accountabilities; Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters. Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project. Overseeing project planning, including producing the detailed project plan. Understanding and ability to critique technical drawings for MEP designs. Overseeing the procurement of resources on a project. Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team. Monitoring and applying performance management techniques. Managing the change control process. Monitoring and advising upon project finances. Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications. Preparing formal project progress and other reports. Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages. Business development to include; Identifying opportunities to develop new business with new and existing clients. Assisting in the production of bid documentation. Financial management - ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilising FMS in order to monitor a project’s financial status. The Candidate The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a consultancy or advanced manufacturing and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. Desired experience includes; Construction or engineering related degree or a similar construction or engineering related qualification with extensive technical delivery experience in a similar role gained within a consultancy, developer or client side organisation. Experience of delivering projects in advanced manufacturing, industrial, science and technology (or comparable) sectors. Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Must have construction experience and the right to work in the UK. Our client want their people to succeed both in work and life.
