We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveyor , to join our team of Maritime experts in our office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil . What you will be doing. As our Senior Surveyor, you will support the Principal Surveyor and offer guidance to Staff Surveyors. Assist in delivery of business to provide sufficient surveyor coverage in geographic area of responsibility. To be familiar with all aspects of ABL Marine services and key deliverables. To undertake own chargeable time. In addition, you will: Familiarise with all aspects of all business line services and key deliverables. Attend as MWS on offshore installation vessels. Administrate all project documents received, as well as ensuring that the result of the review is notified to the interested parties. Coordinate and carry out inspectors/consultants and/or attend operations. Support all business development activities including the promotion of Engineering Consulting with local and international clients. Assist in marketing of the business line and its services. Maintain own level of billable utilisation above 60%. Take on other duties as assigned. Be responsible and accountable for the Quality & HSE aspects within your region / department and projects; shall promote QHSE related activities within all operations and ensure compliance to all applicable company QHSE policies, procedures, work systems and regulations. The role will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the candidate must have the right to live and work in Brazil . This position requires flexibility, including the ability to work remotely as needed, attend onsite (offshore) projects, and adapt to varying working hours. What we are looking for. We are looking for a self-driven, insightful, and solution-oriented professional with good interpersonal skills. The successful candidate can work independently and efficiently, even in high-pressure situations. A strong team player with a proactive approach. Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritize work are key to success as is the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts. In addition, you will: Engineer (bachelor’s degree), Master Marine (STCW class 1), Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent with significant marine surveys / consultancy related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 7 years relevant professional experience. Demonstrate working knowledge of lifting and transport operations. Demonstrate working knowledge of industry standards and codes and the ability to apply standards. Good decision-making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Accurate reporting and the ability to deliver high quality work on time. Good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability and be able to deal effectively with multiples issues and assignments simultaneously. Ability to prepare complex reports. Assertive and buoyant, forward-thinking with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image. Well organized and self-directed individual with strong business/commercial skills. Outgoing and pragmatic with strength of character, proactive and insightful with good man management skills. Team player with excellent communication skills. Proficient in English (Intermediate Level). Desirable - Master Marine (STCW class 1), Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent with significant marine warranty surveys, marine surveys / consultancy related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrate working knowledge of offshore mooring and subsea installations of flexible and rigid lines. Proficient in English (Advanced Level). What is in it for you?
