Employer Description A 5-Star Game Reserve located in KwaZulu Natal Job Description Our client is looking for an experienced Sous Chef who will be the Head Chefs right hand, responsible for planning and managing food preparation in the kitchen. You will be responsible for performing a variety of duties including but not limited to planning menus, assisting in training new kitchen staff and recording stock. The successful candidate must have a flair for kitchen management as well as a genuine passion for food cookery and presentation. Qualifications Matric Culinary/Food preparation qualifications Skills The successful candidate will have: Minimum 2 years working experience as a Sous Chef 5-star lodge fine dining experience Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Excellent record of kitchen and staff management Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions Familiar with the industrys best practices Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Benefits Single accommodation (work cycle is 3 weeks on/ 1 week off) 1x meal on duty Health insurance plan Contribution towards provident fund
