Network Security Engineer - Vulnerability Assessment

Job Title : Network Security Engineer Location : Bangalore Job Type : Full-time Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the security of our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding systems and data, ensuring compliance with security policies, and responding effectively to security incidents. Key Responsibilities : - Design, deploy, and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances. - Implement and manage secure access solutions, such as NAC (Network Access Control). - Continuously monitor the network for vulnerabilities, threats, and breaches. - Respond to security incidents promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. - Maintain incident response playbooks and run regular simulations. - Develop and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with industry standards (e.g , ISO 27001, NIST). - Conduct regular security audits and assessments. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g , GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS). - Work closely with IT teams to ensure secure configurations of network devices, servers, and applications. - Advise on security aspects for new projects, applications, and technologies. - Conduct security awareness training for employees. - Optimize network and security performance while maintaining strict security postures. - Troubleshoot and resolve network performance and security-related issues. - Maintain detailed documentation of network security architectures, configurations, and incident reports. - Provide regular updates and metrics to management on security posture and incidents. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. - Certifications: CEH, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or equivalent. Experience : - 3-5 years of experience in network security engineering. - Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies (e.g , Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point). Key Competencies : - Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF). - Knowledge of encryption standards, PKI, and secure key management. - Expertise in malware analysis, threat intelligence, and endpoint security. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication skills to articulate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred : - Experience with cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). - Knowledge of automation and scripting languages (e.g, Python, PowerShell). - Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and SASE frameworks.
