Job Overview : - We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our engineering team. - As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power the applications. - You will work closely with frontend developers, product teams, and designers to build scalable and high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain the backend architecture, including server-side logic and databases. - Build and maintain APIs and microservices that support application functionality. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards. - Work with relational (e.g , MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g , MongoDB, Cassandra) databases. - Optimize database queries and ensure the integrity, scalability, and performance of the data layer. - Manage database migrations and ensure proper data backup and recovery. - Collaborate with team members to design scalable and robust systems that meet application requirements. - Participate in architecture reviews and provide input on design decisions and best practices. - Implement caching mechanisms, load balancing, and other optimizations for better performance. - Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services as needed. - Ensure the security, efficiency, and performance of APIs. - Write unit tests and perform debugging and troubleshooting to resolve issues. - Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality features. - Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and stand-ups as part of an Agile development process. - Provide technical support and assistance to other team members when required. - Monitor and optimize backend performance, including server performance and database query optimization. - Develop systems to handle high traffic and large volumes of data. - Implement solutions for high availability and fault tolerance. - Implement security measures to protect data and systems, including authentication, authorization, and encryption. - Stay up to date with security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements - Minimum of 6-8 years of professional backend development experience. - Experience with backend frameworks (e.g , Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, Java, Spring). - Strong experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL). - Familiarity with API development and integration (REST, GraphQL). - Experience with version control systems (e.g , Git). - Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
