Band C – Commercial Consultant – Risk and Assurance – Kilburn, London – £45,073 per annum Reed Talent Professionals are supporting The Metropolitan Police Service in the search for a Commercial Consultant with Risk and Assurance experience to join their Enablement and Performance Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to develop a broad range of commercial and risk management skills, focusing on commercial transformation, assurance, and governance. The ideal candidate will have public sector commercial knowledge and experience of working in a complex environment with a focus on risk management, corporate governance, and internal controls. Desirable Criteria: CIPS qualification / IACCM certification (or working towards). Experience of supply network risk management. Day-to-day of the role: Gain exposure to commercial transformation, assurance, and governance within a complex environment. Understand and apply risk management, corporate governance, and internal controls within the public sector or large organisations. Manage end-to-end commercial lifecycle management and adhere to commercial policy and relevant legislation. Prioritise and manage a demanding workload to meet operational and strategic deadlines. Organise and facilitate meetings and workshops across all levels, including with senior colleagues, practitioners, and external stakeholders. Analyse and interpret large amounts of data/information, synthesising complex information into strategic, succinct, and pertinent reports for different audiences. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working in a complex environment with a focus on risk management, corporate governance, and internal controls. Understanding of the principles of commercial lifecycle management and knowledge of governance, commercial policy, and relevant legislation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise urgent and important tasks effectively. Confident IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and the ability to analyse and interpret data. Excellent communication skills with the ability to organise and facilitate meetings and workshops. Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and escalate complex issues when necessary. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement. Benefits: Competitive salary package.
