Equate Scotland is a national expert policy, research, development and advocacy organisation hosted by Edinburgh Napier University, with a focus on womens under-representation within the science, engineering, technology and the built environment industries. As part of ongoing efforts to facilitate increased awareness of our initiatives, we are currently recruiting a Business Engagement Manager to work with employers and clients on their recruitment practices and support/lead in the delivery of identified elements of Equates consultancy service. The Role: As Business Engagement Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with employers, industry partners and training providers on a series of projects that aim to enable the access, increased participation, progression, and retention of women in STEM. As someone who has experience in building commercial relationships within Higher Education/private/public sector, you will be in an excellent position to use your strong verbal and written communication skills to initiate, build and maintain positive relationships with employers, industry partners, and training/education providers to support gender equality and address the gender imbalance in STEM sectors. In collaboration with the Director, you will have the remit to act as the main point of contact for employers to understand their Equality Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) requirements/needs, lead and develop business sponsorship activities and provide consultancy services and bespoke support to public sector, industry and academia. Furthermore, the role will give you a platform to use your knowledge and expertise to develop a new service offering/s in consultation with Equate team, building on our existing network of industry contacts across the five target sectors to develop ED&I service offerings for clients that can be converted to income generation projects. Whilst the role is initially until September 2026, Equate Scotlands government funding is generally renewed each year, therefore there is the high likelihood that this role will be extended. What we will need from you: - HNC/equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or extensive experience in a relevant context - Demonstrable experience in building commercial relationships within Higher Education/private/ public sector - Demonstrable knowledge of marketing and business development (strategic and tactical) - Significant experience in designing and delivering training workshops - Ability to seek and develop new relationships to achieve strategic business objectives Benefits we offer: 41 days annual leave (includes bank holidays, prorated accordingly), generous pension and professional development opportunities.
