Assistant Financial Accountant

CMA Financial Recruitment is supporting a global service business, based in Portsmouth with the recruitment of an Assistant Financial Accountant. This is a newly created position that will strengthen their UK Financial Accounting team and offers hybrid working, a discretionary bonus scheme, and study support. What will the Assistant Financial Accountant role involve? Support with general accounting and month-end activities, ensuring the close is accurate, complete, and in accordance with IRFS and associated group accounting policies Prepare the monthly recharges. Timely submission of the accounts via Cognos. Assist with the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process to ensure robust and timely completion, old balances are investigated and resolved. Prepare monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and P&, challenge and investigate any variances including trends, and action any outcomes in a timely manner. Maintain the fixed asset register and CapEx Projects. Assist in the annual audit preparation. Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Financial Accountant vacancy: Good bookkeeping skills. A knowledge of Capital Expenditure would be an advantage. Highly numerate with excellent communication skills, teamwork, and collaboration skills Analytical and detailed problem-solving skills Additional benefits and information for the role of Assistant Financial Accountant: 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
