Electrical Design Engineer

About the role Our client is one of the UK's most well known Construction businesses. Due to a number of successful project wins they are looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer to their Scotland office. The successful candidate will be self sufficient and be able to develop a model/design unaided. You will be working on some of the most prestigious projects currently being built in the UK. Working on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office / 2 at home). What you'll be doing As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities; Design LV electrical distribution systems Create the following documentation: Specifications & Datasheets Cable Calculations & Schedules Drawings (via CAD team) Review and check manufacturer document / information for compliance with project specifications. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers. Who we're looking for Qualities and experience: Must be proficient in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign. Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and project teams to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solution Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design. Excellent IT Skills are desirable. Microsoft Office experience is essential including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint. Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material. Experience in a broad range of heavy industries such as Petrochemical, Power Generation, Renewables and Nuclear. Beneficial experience: Design of HV electrical systems Use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software Use of Dialux or Relux software Use of SKM, ETAP, Digsilent, PSCAD software Design of ATEX systems
