Stellenbosch University Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences Deans Office Manager: Learning and Teaching (Job Level 7) (Stellenbosch Campus) Ref. EBW00/336/1224 The Learning and Teaching Hub in the Dean's Office of the Economic and Management Sciences Faculty at Stellenbosch University (SU) supports the Faculty in providing a transformative educative student experience through the delivery of educational quality, curriculum development and renewal, student-centred learning and teaching, and effective assessment practices. It aids in the design of programmes and modules aligned with accreditation standards, staff and student development, provides academic advising support, and assists with the integration of technology to enhance teaching and learning and assessment. It also strives to use data-driven strategic planning to support continuous improvement and align academic practices with Faculty / institutional goals. Duties: Managing and coordinating all strategic learning, teaching and assessment initiatives within the Faculty. Representing the Faculty and Deans Office, as required on institutional and Faculty forums. Implementing institutional policies, guidelines and strategies at Faculty level, and supportingadministrative and academic staff in this task. Leading and coordinating the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum renewal processes within the Faculty. Providing strategic oversight and support regarding student access activities and initiatives (recruitment, applications, selection and registration). Coordinating and managing activities around student success. Managing and supporting key role-players in the Vice-Dean: Learning and Teaching reporting lines. Requirements: Relevant postgraduate qualification at NQF level 8. Sound knowledge and experience of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education. The ability to liaise with academics and professional/support staff on all levels. Previous experience in curriculum renewal or curriculum development initiatives. At least five years experience in a higher education institution. Excellent communication, administrative and project management skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and a team approach. Recommendations: Relevant masters degree. Sound knowledge of the Stellenbosch University context. Experience in training and academic development at a higher education institution.
