Field Technician (Beame Network Support)

The main objective of the position is to assist in maintaining a healthy network to support Beame and all other supporting products and services related to the Beame network infrastructure. The Techncian will be responsible for extensive field travelling to high sites at strategic towns and borders to carry out scheduled maintenance of product that support the network: Conduct Network Health Monitoring Submit Network Reporting Conduct Product Testing and Investigation Understand the Product and gain knowledge Conduct Network Maintenance Analyse and investigate units from the field Assist with network upgrades and configurations Required to engage with different suppliers, dealers and installation teams Perform related duties as assigned by manager Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Matric Technician certificate advantageous Tertiary education or equivalent (beneficial but not required) Valid Drivers License (Min. 3 years experience) 3-4 years experience in tracking industry, SVR, telematics, fleet background with some technical knowledge Excellent Verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers. Ability to climb a 6m ladder and use basic tools such as multimeter (should not be afraid of heights). Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook) Willing to travel long distances and travel 80% of the time with overnight stay (3-4 days) a week and 20% based at the office. Experience travelling to local towns in SA and neighbouring countries
