Power BI/Cognos Developer - Data Analytics

Job Description : Key Responsibilities : - Extract, transform, and load data from various sources (SQL databases, Excel, flat file) into Power BI and Cognos data models. - Create data models that are efficient, scalable, and optimized for performance. - Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure data quality. - Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Cognos. - Utilize a variety of visualization techniques (charts, graphs, maps) to effectively communicate insights. - Create dynamic and user-friendly dashboards that provide real-time insights. - Implement data security and access controls to protect sensitive information. - Develop ETL processes using tools like SSIS or Power BI Dataflows to automate data ingestion and transformation. - Create data pipelines to integrate data from various sources into a unified data warehouse. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports and dashboards. - Optimize data models, queries, and visualizations to improve response times. - Provide training and support to end-users on how to use the developed reports and dashboards. - Troubleshoot issues and provide timely solutions to user queries. Required Skills and Experience : - Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques. - Proficiency in Power BI and Cognos Analytics. - Experience in data visualization techniques and best practices. - Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation. - Knowledge of ETL tools like SSIS or Power BI Dataflows. - Experience with DAX and MDX query languages. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team (ref:hirist.tech)
