Counsellor

About the Role We are seeking a Counsellor to join a newly opening rehabilitation center (drug abuse, eating disorder, and gambling addiction) in Cape Town. It is an exciting opportunity for anyone in psychology or a counsellor who is passionate about helping recovering addicts reach sobriety and assisting them in building a better version of themselves for them and their loved ones. Key Responsibilities · Provide one-to-one counselling, and conduct group counselling sessions · Conduct assessments of all new program participants · Follow treatment plans with clients, and regularly review and revise plans on an ongoing and intentional basis · Run educational groups discussing issues · Provide emotional and physical well-being coping skills to patients · Chart the daily progress of patients · Complete all other duties as assigned Qualifications and Experience · At least 1 year experience as a counsellor · Have worked with addiction patients · Registered Counsellor (HPCSA) preferably (or studying for degree in psychology) Additional Skills · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · High degree of empathy and emotional resilience · Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
