AWS System Administrator - Cloud Based Systems

Job Description : We are seeking a skilled AWS System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of our cloud-based systems. Responsibilities : - Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS environments. - Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS services and resources. - Perform regular system and application backups, ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity. - Implement and manage security best practices, including IAM policies, security groups, and encryption. - Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. - Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform. - Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). - Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes. - Set up and manage monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and infrastructure. - Capable of troubleshooting system or deployment issues across applications and identifying solutions. - Mindful of security, performance, and usability needs within our application spaces - Proactive mindset in identifying problems and opportunities for improvement across applications. - Contribute to feedback on solution options provided with an eye on best practices. - Well versed in English based summary style communications and able to back them with technical facts - Experienced in managing deployments, preparing release branches, troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues - Provide 24/7 support for critical incidents and participate in on-call rotations. - Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to support application deployment and integration. - Provide guidance and support to other team members on AWS best practices and solutions. - Conduct training sessions and create documentation for internal stakeholders. Perform the following activities in GitHub : - Process of Workflows - Preparing YAML files for deployments - Troubleshooting failed jobs - Configuring and accessing Environment Variables and Actions Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 10 years of experience as a System Administrator, with a focus on AWS. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or similar certification preferred. - Proficiency in AWS services such as IAM, EC2, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cloud - Formation, SAM, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch, Event bridge, Secrets Manager, EKS, SSM, SQS, - Terraform and SNS. - Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud computing concepts. - Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). - Familiarity with CI/CD processes via GitHub Actions. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications : VPC, IAM, Route 53, Helm, Okta, AppSync, Step Functions Education Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (ref:hirist.tech)
