Biology Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Spilsby
Start Date: 3rd March 2025
End Date: 21st July 2025
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Are you an exceptional Biology Teacher seeking a fulfilling opportunity to inspire young scientists? GSL Education is recruiting a dedicated and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to cover a maternity leave at a well-regarded secondary school in Spilsby. This role is suitable for full-time applicants only and is open exclusively to candidates residing in the UK.
The Role:
As a Biology Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging and inspiring Biology lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5, fostering a passion for the subject.
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the National Curriculum, ensuring all students reach their academic potential.
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing tailored support to meet individual learning needs.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations, instilling confidence and critical thinking skills.
Contribute to the wider Science Department, promoting innovation and collaboration among staff.
What We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
Proven experience teaching Biology up to A-Level (KS5) in UK secondary schools.
A deep understanding of the National Curriculum and exam board specifications for Biology.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
