Engineering Manager/Technical Architect - Backend Systems

Job Title : Engineering Manager / Technical Architect (Backend) Employment Type : Full-Time Role Summary : We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager / Technical Architect specializing in backend systems to lead our development team, architect scalable solutions, and drive technical excellence. This dual role combines leadership with hands-on technical expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable backend systems. Key Responsibilities : Technical Leadership : - Design and architect scalable, maintainable, and secure backend systems that meet business requirements. - Define technical standards, code quality guidelines, and best practices. - Oversee and contribute to the development of APIs , microservices , and integrations . - Evaluate and implement appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools. Engineering Management : - Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of backend engineers to achieve technical excellence and career growth. - Manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering team, including sprint planning, code reviews, and performance evaluations. - Foster a collaborative and innovative engineering culture. Project Management : - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend engineers , and DevOps to deliver high-impact projects. - Ensure timely delivery of projects by managing timelines, priorities, and resources effectively. - Identify and mitigate risks in the development process. - Problem Solving and Optimization - Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend systems. - Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and security. - Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure and server costs. Required Skills and Qualifications : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience (15 years) in backend development using Java - Proficiency in backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Go, and frameworks like Spring, Django, or Express.js. - Strong understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and system design principles. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines , containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (ref:hirist.tech)
