Job Description
SEN Support Worker / PA in Oxted, RH8. A Weekend opportunity available for a SEN professional to support a 5-year-old cheeky chap requiring 2:1 support. Up to 24 hour shifts. Offering £17.00 - £19.00 Gross per Hour.
Nearest Tube/Station: Oxted Train Station
Wage/Salary: Weekday £17.00, Weekend £19.00, £11.44 Sleeping night hours. Gross per Hour.
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use on duty
Essential: Experience supporting a young child with behavioural needs, self-regulation, and anxiety. Non-smoker/vaper
Desirable: Sensory processing, supporting with communication skills, and experience working within a private family home
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Typical shift times: 2.30pm to 9.00am (sleeping night 9.00pm – 6.00am) or 24-hour shift starting at 9am, including a sleeping night. Friday, Saturday and Sunday shift available, please get in touch with your availability.

About this client/child: Conor, 5, lives at home with his wonderful parents and big brother. He is an energetic, engaging, happy young chap with a love for learning, story time, trips to the park in his buggy, and all things transport, especially cars! Conor has Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy, and requires 2:1 support, 24/7. He strives for his independence and with the support of his therapy and care team, he is making excellent progress. Conor loves to chat, and his expressive communication has come on leaps and bounds, he is also super quick crawling and rolling; with support and supervision he can sit for short periods of time. Conor needs support with his behaviour management and self-regulation. His home is fully adapted to meet all his needs, including ceiling track hoists, therapy room, and specialistic equipment including a standing frame. Conor’s team is led by a Team Leader, and is expanding with an opening for a weekend SEN Nanny / Support Worker to join.
Overview of role: Conor’s team provides 2:1 support day and night. His night care consists of one waking night carer, and one On-Call Night carer. His team continually promotes his independence, provides hand on support with all areas of his ADL’s, personal care and self-help skills. His parents, medical, therapy, support and case management team all work in collaboration to ensure Conor has the highest standard of support in place, ensuring all his needs are met. He requires support to managing his self-regulations, and anxiety; all training in this area is provided. Each day is jam packed with things to do, he has a busy schedule, with therapy and rehabilitation appointments/sessions, planned activities and outdoor play. If you are on shift for a sleep in night, Conor’s Waking Night Carer will tend to all his needs throughout the night, you will on rare occasions assist if Conor’s sleep is very unsettled. The contract available will include working alternate weekends, however, there is additional shifts, 12 – 24 hours shifts available during school holidays.
