Team Leader Physiotherapist - Major Trauma
Band 7 - Permanent Position
£46,148 - £52,809 per annum
Location: South West of England
Greys Specialist Recruitment are helping our new client with a Senior Team Leader Physiotherapist position.
This position is for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic physiotherapist with excellent multidisciplinary communication to lead and develop a Major Trauma physiotherapy team. This post is integral to the delivery of a high standard of physiotherapeutic care and is integral to the multidisciplinary team's ability to provide smooth and appropriate discharge planning with the wider community MDT. The successful candidate will work as a senior clinician in major trauma areas.
The successful candidate must have extensive experience at a senior level in the field of major trauma physiotherapy working in the acute environment; be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of personal autonomy, clinical skill, leadership and proven knowledge of the national healthcare agenda that impacts on day-to-day life in major trauma department. You must have good inter-personal skills, work well in a multidisciplinary team environment and have the ability to lead a team in challenging times.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high level of clinical leadership to the Major Trauma service.
Undertake a team leader role with support from the Head of Physiotherapy, Consultant Therapist - Neurosurgery and Therapies Service Line Cluster Manager in planning, co-ordinating, delivering, developing and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to major trauma patients on a day-to-day basis. This involves working across the trust in a range of settings providing a seven-day service.
To provide clinical leadership to more junior staff in the department and ensure governance agenda is delivered in line with trust structure.
To supervise/performance manage all staff line managed by this post.
To take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have acute complex and/or acute on chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
To assist with data collection and audit reports for major trauma patients.
Working within Major Trauma Centre, the post holder will work alongside the Consultant Therapist in attending and representing Therapies to the Peninsula major trauma network and the current major trauma multi professional service leads.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
Extensive post graduate demonstrable experience across all specialities. Previous demonstrable experience at a Senior level within the field of inpatient trauma, dealing with broad / complex caseload.
Demonstrable experience at a senior level within major trauma in-patient services within an acute setting.
Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level within adult surgical/medical/neuro/respiratory setting.
Recent senior demonstrable experience in the management of post-operative /critical care patients with a broad range of complex cardiorespiratory needs.
Proven evidence of Leadership and team working abilities
Proven evidence of Teaching and CPD
An awareness of current NHS and Health issues related to Major Trauma Care.
