Job Description

United Living is seeking a Project Manager to join us and play a key role managing our clients in key Gas Transmission Asset Upgrades. The role will involve working in a dynamic and fast paced organisation and will afford the candidate the opportunity to work on strategic projects and stakeholder management, developing further within the role of project management.

Your sites will be based across the Southeast of the UK, ranging from Chelmsford to Peterborough/ Kings Lynn. The ideal candidate will be based in the local area, however, we’re also open to someone joining the business in the Northwest, with regular weekly travel to the sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

Take all necessary actions to ensure that work is carried out within the project requirements and timescales. Managing the Company’s obligations and rights under the terms of the contract.
Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, Project schedules, Project Budgets and Governance approvals;
Provide up to date and accurate reports and presentations on the Project progress and highlight any potential risk to the relevant parties.
Responsible for developing and establishing excellent working relationships through effective communication with Clients and Stakeholders. Liaising with Clients to build trust and enhance understanding. Attendance at meetings and attendance at Client events.
Support / help facilitate project meetings and support on accurate recording of meetings.
In conjunction with the project manager and Quantity Surveyor, the preparation of accurate CVR’s, the achievement and improvement of the project target profitability, the identification of project risks and opportunities and advise on forecast monthly turnover.
Promote high standards of health and safety and environmental management by attending Health & Safety Meetings, developing Health and Safety Plans, ensuring compliance with Company procedures, carrying out SHEQ and quality audits and setting a good example.
In conjunction with the other internal teams assess, select and appoint the sub-contractors based on their financial and quality of work performance, Undertake regular reviews to ensure work is being carried out to a high and safe standard. Agree scopes of each sub-contract package.
Travel within the UK to various site locations shall be required regularly.

Qualifications

You will have 5+ years relevant experience preferably with a construction / energy / engineering background.
Awareness of key aspects of commercial management, including scope, change and forecasting management.
Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations the Designer and principal Contractor’s role.
Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment; experience delivering gas projects is desirable.
Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
Experience with software such as PowerBI, MS Project, Powerpoint, Excel, Primavera, GIS.
Full, clean drivers licence
