Position: Site Engineer
Location: Oxford
Project Type: Steel Frame Multi-Story Residential Development
Start Date: January 2024
Duration: 18 Months
About the Project:
We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer, preferably with SMSTS certification, to join a prestigious 18-month steel frame, multi-story residential project in Oxford. This high-profile development will set new standards in modern construction and requires a proactive, experienced professional to drive its successful delivery.
The Role:
As Site Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing engineering aspects of the project. You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate setting out, maintaining quality standards, and driving efficiency during the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform setting out duties for all structural and groundwork elements, including steel frame installations.
* Conduct QA checks, ensuring all works meet design and technical specifications.
* Coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and site operatives to maintain programme deadlines.
* Monitor and manage materials, logistics, and site resources to ensure smooth progress.
* Attend and contribute to progress meetings, reporting on engineering activities and issues.
* Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times on-site.
* Produce as-built drawings and provide accurate survey data for the project team.
* Support the Site Manager in the coordination of daily site operations.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience as a Site Engineer on steel frame or multi-story residential projects is essential.
* SMSTS certification (preferred) or strong health and safety awareness.
* Competent in using AutoCAD and other relevant surveying equipment (e.g., total stations).
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with site teams.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on quality control.
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
* Valid CSCS card and other necessary certifications.
* SMSTS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
