Fleet/Transport Manager

Fleet/Transport Manager. As the Fleet/Transport Manager you will be working for a Local Authority in the West Midlands. This is initially a contract role for 6 months, daily rate £350-400/day. Thereafter there will be an opportunity for the role to become permanent.

The Role

To manage all functions of the transport operation within the waste collection and street cleansing fleet, ensuring a full and effective control is placed upon the management of the fleet and the company’s operator licence. You will work closely with the other transport managers in a joined-up approach. The position is the focal point for the provision, use and safety of vehicles and plant and their operators. Ensuring that all functions related to the law and legislation of the operator licence are met and procedures and instructions are disseminated and followed. This includes dealing with drivers, defects, liaising with supplier workshop and management and ensuring availability of vehicles. This is a hands-on role based on site 5 days a week involving a lot of interaction with staff.

Experience

A background in refuse/streets environment or similar industry

Standard National road transport CPC min

Ability to accommodate flexible working patterns

Clean license with a C category preferable
