Part Time Accounts Assistant
North Cardiff
Salary of up to £30,000 per annum DOE pro rata’d
Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a fast-growing business in the North Cardiff area, who is seeking a Part-time Accounts Assistant. Working as part of a friendly team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information for key stakeholders.
As a key member of the team, you will be expected to make a significant contribution to the achievement of the group’s objectives.
This role will offer the opportunity to experience a wide range of finance activities including financial reporting and business partnering as well as inputs into financial and transactional accounting.
My client is seeking someone for 3 days per week but is happy and flexible as to how these hours are worked.
The main duties of the role will include -
Business partnering activities with stakeholders, providing training and support on financial processes to non-financial managers
Reconciliation of petty cash
Reconciliation of bank accounts
Calculation and posting of depreciation
Posting of invoices for the group
Assisting in the preparation of the annual external audit
Developing and managing financial systems, controls and policies to ensure that processes are robust, efficient and effective
Contribute to streamlining and standardisation of financial processes
A key contributor to finance and wider business projects, championing an ethos of continuous improvement throughout the business
Person specification -
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of delivering timely and accurate information. You will have a keen eye for detail and an inquisitive approach and someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You will be driven and proactive and can take the initiative to continuously strive for improvement.
Skills and Qualities -
A self-motivated and proactive attitude
Has the ability to work to deadlines by having an organised and methodical approach
Enthusiastic and driven mindset
Strong attention to detail is a key skill needed for this role – someone who is thorough and accurate when accomplishing tasks
Excellent communication skills
It is important to be both a strong team player as well as possessing the ability to work alone to complete key tasks
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as conversant with a range of ERP and IT systems.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Qualified AAT or equivalent
A Levels or equivalent
GCSE’s (A*-C) in Mathematics and English
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong excel skills particularly desirable.
The successful candidate will be employed on the equivalent of a 3-day working week. The hours and days worked can be flexible. 1 day can be worked from home and then 2 days in the office.
Benefits include 3% company pension, Death in Service and Mediplan.
