Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Overview:
CPL UK Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our client in managing a children’s residential home in Shrewsbury. This role is crucial in supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the delivery of exceptional care for young people aged 8-18.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people, encouraging independence and choice.
* Oversee and supervise staff to ensure high standards of professional care.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of young people in collaboration with external professionals.
* Ensure compliance with The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and other relevant standards.
* Participate in recruitment, induction, and training of staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
* Handle scheduling, rota management, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
* Manage safeguarding concerns, medication administration, and health & safety compliance.
* Support young people in their development, relationships, and achieving positive outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and attend care reviews and meetings as required.
* Act as the Manager in their absence, including being on-call as needed.
Requirements:
* Experience in children’s residential care, ideally in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
* Relevant health or social care qualifications Level 4 Diploma, NVQ, or equivalent
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Flexible to work on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
