Job Description
A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134million turnover are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work out of their Essex office overseeing projects in the home counties and London. They offer a variety of excellent work and lifestyle benefits and a competitive salary of up to £75,000 DOE.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working for a company that have been established for over 30 years and will require a strong senior candidate with experience of NEC and will be responsible for estimating and controlling costs, making sure that structures meet legal and quality standards
Senior Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (negotiable for highly qualified candidates).
- 23 day’s holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
- Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation
- Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
- Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
- Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts
- Agreement of final accounts.
- Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
- Utilise the costing system.
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
- Relevant Industry Qualification
- General Civil Engineering experience
- Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and the ability to manage complex cost structures
- Experience using CEMAR
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications
- Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate
- Experience within a construction/engineering industry and commercial background
