The role
As an Apprenticeship Coach, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a vital role in the security of the nation and supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes the fleet management of over 50,000 vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons.
Day-to-day, you’ll visit vehicle mechanic learners within their workplace using your vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess and support them to achieve their apprenticeship. No rpior training experince require as we will look to develop you into the role
- Support, motivate and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components of the apprenticeship programme are completed in a timely manner whilst meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements
- Monitor and review learners inline with the customers expectations
- Ensure all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines
- Provide portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on the requirements of their programme
- Effectively record, plan and track individual learner progress in accordance with agreed paperwork and reporting processes.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week, offered on a 12-Month Fixed-Term contract and is fully remote. There is a requirement to travel to locations including but not limited to: Colchester, Ipswich, Kent and Woodbridge four days per week

Essential experience of the Apprenticeship Coach
- Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field
- Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
- Previous experience in the defence sector, ideally within the army arena (desired not essential)
Qualifications for the Apprenticeship Coach
- Relevant industry related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3)
- Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
Security Clearance
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role as well as Enhandced DBS and Child Barring Service (EDBSCBL) security clearance for this role.
