Mechanical Engineer
Salary: £40,000 + £2,500 Shift Allowance
Location: Cardiff, Wales
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days and Nights, 7-7)
Holiday Allowance: 22 days per year
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Join our team at a prestigious university in Cardiff?
As a valued member of our engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing a wide range of mechanical systems across the university's M&E plant, including chillers, compressors, waste management systems, air handling units, fan coil units, and boilers. You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of vital equipment and systems.
What we offer:
* Competitive Salary: £40,000 plus a £2,500 shift allowance.
* Overtime: Opportunities for overtime with premium rates (1.5x for the first 6 hours and double time thereafter).

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance: Work across a variety of mechanical systems, including chillers, compressors, waste management systems, air handling units, and boilers.
* Fault Finding: Diagnose and resolve faults across various systems (installation work is not required).
* Pre-Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to urgent repair needs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
* BMS & Water Pumps: Oversee BMS systems and perform stripping and maintenance of water pumps.
