Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Salary Range: £94 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming school in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young learners and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring students are supported in their learning.
Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support and interventions.
Help maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher to adapt learning strategies as needed.
Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and interactions.
Assist with the supervision of students during activities, such as lunch, playtime, and school trips.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure cohesive support for students' educational goals.
Uphold and follow school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
Knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching support strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Patience, empathy, and an understanding of how to support children’s individual needs.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential.
Commitment to professional development and the ability to adapt to new teaching techniques and practices.
Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
