Job Description
We are seeking an Experienced Estimator to join an established team in Cambridge on a permanent basis. If you have a strong background in construction estimating and are passionate about delivering successful projects, we want to hear from you.
You will play a key role in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects, from initial concept to detailed stage 3 plans.
Main Duties:
* Preparing detailed cost estimates using various methods, including first principles and taking-off from drawings.
* Leading the tender enquiry process and managing subcontractor quotations.
* Identifying and mitigating potential risks and cost overruns.
* Contributing to the development and improvement of estimating processes.
* Supporting project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
The Successful candidate:
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with experience working for a Main Contractor.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and costs.
* Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., WinQS, CostX, Asite).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive, results-oriented, and a strong team player.
